Get a Grip

Gino Wickman, the author of a previously noted book, “Traction” has a new one titled “Get a Grip.”

This time he has chosen to use “fiction” to help to explain his “entrepreneurial operating system.” And what a powerful challenged team story he has created.

More recently he has focused on the weekly team meeting and its importance. If you haven’t picked up either book do so. Briefly the weekly meeting should last no more than an hour and a half and include 5 minutes for team member good news, 15 minutes reporting on a standing “score card” of key issues, 5 minutes reviewing last week’s to-do list, 60 minutes issues solving and finally a 5 minute review.

Issues solving is key. First identify the three most important on the issues list and problem solve them one by one.

Home building is such a changing world. Issues are key. Traction is a means to manage them.
